Low Shed? Unusual Vehicle? Meet the HAPP95 Adjustable-Width 2 Post Hoist

One of the most common questions we’re asked is:

“Can I fit a two-post hoist in my shed?”

Sometimes the problem is ceiling height. Sometimes it’s the available width. And sometimes the vehicle simply doesn’t suit the dimensions of a conventional two-post hoist.

That’s exactly why the HAPP95 exists.

A Different Approach to the Two-Post Hoist

The HAPP95 is a 3000kg clear-floor two-post lift, but its layout is quite different from a conventional model.

There is no overhead beam and no floor plate.

Even more importantly, the distance between the columns isn’t predetermined — the column spacing can be configured to suit the installation and vehicle.

For owners of unusual vehicles, wider cars or sheds where every centimetre matters, that flexibility can make a significant difference.

Only 2420mm High

The HAPP95 columns are just 2420mm high.

Unlike designs where hydraulic components extend above the columns during operation, nothing rises beyond the HAPP95’s column height.

That makes it particularly interesting for home garages and sheds where a taller conventional clear-floor lift isn’t practical.

Despite the compact columns, the HAPP95 provides a standard lifting height of approximately 1750mm, increasing to approximately 1950mm with the supplied spacers.

Gen 2 Arms Add Even More Flexibility

Column positioning is only part of the equation.

The HAPP95 includes four HAPP Generation 2 three-piece arms, each providing approximately 580–1140mm of adjustment.

Combining adjustable column positioning with a broad arm range provides considerable flexibility when positioning different vehicles and reaching their recommended lifting points.

What’s Underneath the Design Matters Too

A hoist can look simple from the outside.

Engineering one isn’t.

HAPP hoist designs undergo structural engineering analysis by Australian Professional Engineers against applicable Australian Standards.

Advanced engineering tools including Finite Element Analysis (FEA) allow engineers to analyse stresses, load paths and deflection through structural components before and alongside physical testing.

HAPP90 or HAPP95?

If ceiling height is your biggest restriction, HAPP also offers the HAPP90, which uses approximately 2.02m-high columns.

The HAPP95’s taller 2.42m columns provide the advantage of a significantly greater lifting height, making it the better choice where the extra ceiling clearance is available.

Neither model is designed to replace every conventional two-post hoist.

They’re alternatives for the garages, vehicles and installations where a conventional layout simply doesn’t make sense.

Before You Choose a Hoist

Don’t start by asking which hoist is “best”.

Start with:

How high is my ceiling?
What vehicles am I lifting?
Where are their lifting points?
How much usable width do I have?
What concrete am I installing into?
And what work do I actually want to do underneath them?

The right answers will usually make the right hoist much easier to identify.
